“Final Hallucination”-By Matthew Maggard

Over the years I have read many books of all different genres. Thrillers, mystery, horror, drama, you name it. I recently had the pleasure of reading this vividly crazy tale by Matthew Maggard and I loved it, so here goes my first book review...

This story follows a seemingly unimportant burnout "Matt" whose only ambitions in life are smoking weed blunts and chasing tail, so he can get some "fornication". What starts out as a normal day for Matt quickly turns into insanity filled with girlfriend and weed stealing demonic clowns that can open portals to another world, pot smoking monkeys that kick ass and his troupe of animal friends that wear strange little outfits and have ninja like skills and can talk. Not to mention an evil plot to destroy the universe and the "Hero of Light". Matt of course, follows the clown that stole his girlfriend through the portal and is instantly transported to a strange new world - Quasaria and from there on the action just never stops. He crosses paths with some crazy drug dealers and from then on, Matt finds himself in one unfortunate predicament after another. It makes you wonder if this poor kid is on some sort of acid trip from hell, until it all comes together in an incredible climax, with a great message - anything is possible if you have faith and believe in yourself.

All in all, I found this to be a very enjoyable and thrilling book. It's non-stop adventure and mystery really kept me entertained and  I also enjoyed the sincere and heartfelt dedication to his Mother. That's something you don't see every day and you certainly don't read a story like 'Final Hallucination' every day. This is a highly original and entertaining story and I give it an 8 out of 10. I wouldn't mind seeing this made into a movie some day and I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this budding new writer!
