"Truth or Dare" with Jessica Cameron? Yes please!!
The amazing actress Jessica Cameron (who, by the way, is a former NerdRemix Horror Hottie of the Month and an all around fantastic person) is stepping behind the camera for her directorial debut with the feature "Truth or Dare". Jessica, who is perhaps best known for "Camel Spiders", "Mr. Hush", "Silent Night" and the TLC show "Brides of Beverly Hills" (no truth to the rumor that she was forced to leave the show after a severe allergic reaction to the excessive eye make-up and spray tan coating Hulk Hogan's ex-wife--no truth at all...) co-wrote the script and will produce the flick with writer/producer Jonathan Higgins ("The Masquerade: The Truth Lies Behind the Mask” later this year).
*in case you can't figure it out by yourself, that's Cameron on the left & Higgins on the right below...
The premise, according to the press release, is as follows: “Truth or Dare” revolves around 6 college kids who find internet stardom when they make “Truth or Dare” videos with a violent twist. It’s all fun and games until their number one fan decides he wants to play...
Also producing is Buz "Danger" Wallick ("Thirsty", "The Black Box"). Cameron decided to handle the project herself after several others balked at the extreme subject matter and gore (!!) that the film will contain.
“I’m excited to tackle this new challenge in my film career and I am blessed to have acquired a toptier team to help make my vision a reality. I could not allow this story to be watered down since I love it so much for how twisted it is. The story is original and unapologetic. I think that's one of the huge benefits of making an indy film as opposed to a studio picture; you can go to those places that studios are afraid of. Will we offend some people YES. But horror films offend people already, so I see no need to alter the story to try and appease people who aren’t going to see it and simply complain about the movie. I am confident that other like minded horror fans will love it as it is a gritty, dirty, no holds barred film that goes THERE!"
That statement alone should get fans of the sanguinary spillage excited about the project! (and speaking of exciting, did you see Jessica's cameo as Marilyn Monroe in "The Black Dahlia Haunting"? She looked better than the real deal! Well, honestly, the real Marilyn is probably a severely desiccated corpse by now, but still...I digress, sorry.)
